So, you are traveling for work.

I can’t workout today because I will be at the airport all day.

Look at the length of that hallway. Look at the size of the airport you are at. Stop looking at your phone. Start walking. The airport is a great place to get your steps in for the day. It doesn’t have to be a big fitness day. You don’t have to be that person doing lunges in the aisle of the plane. Just walk. Find your gate so you have that taken care of then start walking. Want to kick it up a notch? Carry your bag instead of using the wheels.

Put the biscoff cookies down.

There wasn’t anything healthy to eat at the airport so I just got McDonalds. Pssh, I don’t want to hear that. I might live in a backwoods town with no Chik-fil-a but I’ve left the town limits once or twice. I know better than that. Plenty of options that are healthy at the airport. You can also bring your own snacks. Be mindful of late night travel when stores and restaurants start to close. Plan ahead for that. If all else fails, just be a little hungry for a while. Drink some water. You'll make it. On the same note, why is it acceptable to sit at a bar and drink at the airport at 10am on a Tuesday? You can’t be an adult human being and get away with that anywhere else. Don’t do it at the airport either.

This is a work trip, act accordingly.

But I was in San Fransico and they had this really cool gelato place….” Would you eat that if you were a home on a normal work day? If so, then go for it. Plan for it though. Just like at home we plan. We stay proactive, not reactionary. If not, save it for your actual vacation.

“They took us out to this 12 course dinner with drinks.” or “I was in charge of entertaining clients so I needed to eat appetizers and drink with them.”

Remember that work dinner you had in Chicago two years ago at that nice restaurant over near “insert famous Chicago landmark”? Do you remember what you ate? Maybe. Do you remember what anyone else ate? Im guess unless they set some sort of record for the most drinks or the number of Oysters Rockefeller they could shovel in their mouth at one time no, you don’t remember. No one cares what you eat. Be mindful, focus on the company, the relationships you are building, not the food and drink.
